The "Peace" Festival
In a symbolic and historic move, Homs launched the "Peace" Festival to reconnect the city with its heritage and community identity. Held under the auspices of the governorate and Ministry of Culture, the festival featured over 200 pavilions and exhibitions in the Train Station Square, with wide participation from residents
The opening included Quranic verses, followed by folk performances, national anthems, horse shows, and fireworks, reviving Homs’ historical and cultural memory. The festival symbolically restores the old square as a social and cultural hub, serving not only as entertainment but as a platform to rebuild cultural identity after years of conflict
Through this large-scale organization, the event emphasizes cultural revival, social cohesion, and the resilience of Homs’ residents, showing that heritage and collective memory remain alive despite the challenges the city has faced
